Celebrating Its 8th Anniversary, Semen Gresik Demonstrates Their Gratitude and Gives Donations to Orphans
Rembang, January 6, 2022 - PT Semen Gresik (PTSG) demonstrated their gratitude and joint prayer, as well as gave donations to orphans at the Al-Hikam Mosque of PTSG Rembang, Wednesday (1/5). In addition to expressing gratitude, this activity was held to celebrate the 8th Anniversary (HUT) of Semen Gresik and the 9th Anniversary of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG).
The event was attended by the President Director of PTSG, Subhan, and the management, employees, business partners, religious figures within the company, and representatives of the orphans. The activities included tausiyah (sermon) and joint prayer, led by a charismatic ulema (Islamic scholar), KH. Moh Sholahuddin Fatawi, M.Pd.I, Head of Al Hidayat Lasem Islamic Boarding School, and chairperson of the Nahdhotul Ulama Branch Management (PCNU) of Lasem.
The President Director of PTSG, Subhan, emphasized that even during the challenging COVID-19 pandemic, tough competition in the cement industry, and difficult national economic conditions, he is grateful that PTSG keeps operating up to this point, continues to provide benefits for the environment and the surrounding community, and closes 2021 with extraordinary achievements in various fields.
"This activity is an expression of gratitude for the company's accomplishments. We hope that, in 2022 and at the age of 8, PTSG will be stronger and able to contribute not only to further develop the company and Semen Indonesia Grup (SIG) but also to benefit the environment and the surrounding community," said Subhan in a press release on Thursday (1/6).
In addition, he expected that, in this challenging year, all PTSG employees remain in synergy and stay motivated to keep moving forward, providing the best and innovative services to achieve sustainable performance for our future.
Subhan also appreciated the performance of all lines, which did not dampen the steps and enthusiasm to tirelessly serve the citizens of Indonesia under any conditions.
"We want to continually build good synergies, supported by sustainable efficiency programs as well as optimal business management to let the company achieve its targets," he said.
At the event, the donation was symbolically handed over to nine orphans, referring to the 9th Anniversary of SIG. They represented approximately 200 orphans and poor people in Rembang Regency. The donation was fully distributed on January 10, 2022.
In his tausiyah, KH. Moh Sholahuddin Fatawi persuaded PTSG people to always instill qanaah (the feeling of contentment with the blessings Allah SWT has bestowed upon them) in their lives. However, to be qanaah does mean to give up. Instead, it must be followed by the best possible effort according to one's abilities.
"Our efforts must be accompanied by a prayer to Allah SWT to get the best outcomes. That way, people who are qanaah can sincerely accept all decisions of Allah SWT and believe that whatever we get is the best and full of blessings," he concluded.
